Currently residing in beautiful Brighton, I’ve been making linocut prints for about 4 years now following a brief visit to Nashville’s Hatch Show Print and being completely inspired to have a go myself.
I’d originally completed a BA in Graphic Design but it was printmaking that interested me the most. I started to teach myself different printing processes and techniques and kept going from there. In 2012 I was fortunate enough to return to Hatch Show Print as part of their internship programme which taught me so much and introduced me to many great artists and studios.
Since then I’ve expanded my practice into screen printing, letterpress and other block prints. My subject matter is generally silly bits and bobs, inspired by places I’ve been, nostalgia and iconic objects or designs. The thing I love most about making prints is that you never know exactly what it’s going to look like until it’s printed…so if I peel back that paper and it makes me laugh I know I’ve done a good job!
You can find my prints in shops and galleries around the UK and sometimes a little further afield. If you’re a Brighton local, I’m frequently at fairs and craft shows around the city. Check the ‘events’ page for upcoming events.
Above all I am a fan of printmaking so I spend god knows how much time looking at prints and probably more money than I should collecting pieces that catch my eye! If you fancy getting in contact to have a chat about my work or printmaking in general please do. My details are in the ‘Contact’ page and I look forward to hearing from you.
